Rebekah maintains a private violin studio in Austin. She has taught violin and viola in public and private schools in the Austin area, including at the University of Texas String Project, the Austin Chamber Music Center, and Austin Soundwaves (an El Sistema affiliated program). Rebekah cares deeply about her students and loves to inspire them not only in the study of their instrument, but also in life.
Rebekah’s students have won competitions for young artists sponsored by both the American String Teacher’s Association and the Music Teachers National Association. Her students have been invited to perform in special Honors recitals at music conventions and Suzuki Institutes. Rebekah is especially pleased that her students have been offered and have accepted academic and performance scholarships from music schools and major universities, including the University of Utah, Utah State University, and Brigham Young University.
Rebekah is a member of the Suzuki Association of America and has a particular interest in the Suzuki method. She has completed Suzuki violin teacher training in Books 1 through 10 and has completed a number of supplemental enrichment Suzuki teacher training courses as well. She has had the privilege of studying with some of the most sought after pedagogues and Suzuki method violin teachers in the country, including Teri Einfeldt, Brian Lewis, Nicolas Kendall, Cathy Lee, Gail Johansen, Gabe Bolkosky, Carrie Beth Hockett, Pat D’Ercole, Allen Lieb, Mimi Zweig and Linda Fiore.
